Philmont Crew - still room!

We still have room for 3 more on our Philmont Crew which is scheduled from 7/1 - 13th, 2018.  Scouts must be 14 and First Class by the start of the trek.  The cost for Philmont is $940 total.  Each crew member has already paid $520, the final $420 payment will be due in February.  Transportation fees will also be added for getting to and from Philmont.  Contact Mrs. Andrews if you are interested.

Troop Court of Honor January 22nd

All parents are invited and encouraged to attend the Troop Court of Honor to acknowledge their scout's achievements and advancements.  Cake will be supplied by the Troop. Yum!

Summer Camp at Mataguay

This year we are heading up to Mataguay! Summer camp is the week of July 8-14th and the cost is $375/scout.  Payments are due as follows:
January 22nd $125 due (this first payment confirms your spot)
February 19th $125 due
March 19th $125 due

Christmas Party and white elephant gift exchange Dec 11th

Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange-

Our ever popular wrapped $5 white elephant gift exchange will be held Dec. 11th.  For anyone unfamiliar with the term white elephant gift, it’s something goofy, it’s something different, it’s something no one would expect a teenage boy to open for Christmas, ha ha.  But whatever it is, it can’t cost more than $5.  And it’s important that you wrap the gift prior to coming to the meeting (otherwise the fun of the surprise is missing) and parents, you are more than welcome to come watch the exchange.  Also, each scout, please bring a snack to share.  Sure to be a festive and fun time!

Rank Advancement Scoutmaster Conference & BOR

Rank Advancement Scoutmaster Conference and Boards of Review scheduling prior to next Court of Honor-

We normally hold Boards of Review at our Committee meetings once a month, but because we take December off, we do not have another Committee meeting before the Jan. 22 Court of Honor.  So if your scout is ready to complete his next Rank, he needs to contact Mr. Andrews prior to a Troop meeting to schedule his Scoutmasters Conference.  As soon as he completes his SM Conf, he needs to contacts Mrs. Stephens ASAP to schedule his Board of Review prior to the next Court of Honor.  Your scout can not just show up at a meeting and expect to get either of these done that night as we only have 3 meetings prior to the Court of Honor.  Please keep this in mind.

PLC Meetings attendance mandatory for Troop leadership

Please note that if your scout holds a leadership position with the Troop, it is his responsibility to attend all PLC meetings the last Monday of each month while he holds the position.  His leadership position is part of his rank advancement, and if he is unable to fulfill the responsibilities of the job, he will be removed from the position.  Please note that Troop elections are coming up December 11th.

Wreath and Popcorn sales continue to October 30th

Along with Popcorn sales, we will be selling wreaths and greenery again this year as well.  Lots of opportunities to make commissions to help pay for campout fees and uniforms!
Watch for information next Monday for those interested. (contact Mr. Tretera for more info) Remember all commissions earned by a scout's sales in both popcorn and wreaths will be held in individual accounts for the scout to use for his scouting costs.  A great opportunity!

Recharter fees due October 23rd

The Recharter fees this year will be $74 and due October 23rd.  Dues are a total of the following fees: $33 registration, $12 Boys Life magazine, and $29 for Troop dues.  If the Scout turns 18 next year, please contact Mrs. Andrews for the reduced time rate.
